About me!
My name is Alyssa Rapp. I graduated from the University of Minnesota - Duluth with my degrees in Early Childhood and Early Childhood Special Education. I had a variety of placements during my time at UMD; I worked in child care centers with a variety of age groups, in schools teaching both kindergarten and 3rd grade, as well as in a special education setting through a school district- visiting children in homes, centers and classrooms. I have worked in a few different child care centers around Duluth with children of all ages. I love working with children, it's been my passion since I was a little girl!
I am married with three young children of my own; a boy and twin girls! During college I knew that doing daycare was the route I wanted to take with my degree. Once we moved into our home and had our son, it was the perfect time to start! I have been licensed to do daycare since October 1, 2012.
I went to school to become a teacher and have wanted to be one my entire life. My daycare will have an informal curriculum. I feel it's important to incorporate learning opportunities at any age. I will have activities daily, we will learn about a variety of things from the abc's to family to the weather! I will incorporate music, reading, math, science and art weekly. I enjoy doing crafts and having fun with learning and have found children really enjoy that too! We will spend a lot of time outside, weather permitting of course. I believe children learn best from play and experience, your children will be having fun and learning each and every day!
* We have 1 loving dog in our home. She is a lab and loves to be around people. She stays downstairs in the basement during the day, but the children are more than welcome to interact with her to their comfort level!
